In my position, there are many key stakeholders, but the most important one is the kids who benefit from 4-H programs throughout the state. There is a 4-H program in every county extension office in the state, and each of these programs has its own way of promoting 4-H, but my position in my internship allows me to help create and design materials for them to use. One major example of this was creating a vector file for every county outline. I did this project on Adobe Illustrator and created two different vector images of the counties, one in white and one in green. These vectors have been used by many different counties for posters, Instagram posts, and more! Another key stakeholder in Georgia 4-H is the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, because 4-H is an extension program of the college. This means that we have to follow the university’s guidelines for communications and branding materials. This is especially important while creating the Cloverleaf Magazine because the layouts and design need to be consistent with the magazines coming out of the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. I have learned that for both of these major stakeholders in 4-H, consistency is key. I have learned that there are established ways to create interesting and forward-thinking designs while still remaining consistent with the branding of Georgia 4-H and the College of Ag. I am always striving for my designs to be professional, especially when I am creating materials that will be used by 4-H agents throughout the state. Another key stakeholder for Georgia 4-H is the alumni and donors who help fund programs. I am not creating marketing materials for these stakeholders, but I am always conscious of how they will view the communications efforts coming from 4-H. These stakeholders want to be informed about how their donations influence and help run 4-H programs. I have had to create infographics on how many students are involved in 4-H and how the funding affects programs to share with 4-H Foundation members as a quick overview of their impact. This was an interesting project because I converted an existing infographic on Canva to an InDesign file, so I got to practice with different graphs, tables, and vectors to create it. I have always known about the stakeholders in Georgia 4-H, but working to create materials for them directly has given me a better understanding of the organization and how it is run. I have seen how important it is to create useful materials for 4-H agents so that they can operate their own 4-H programs in the local counties. I have also learned how much of an impact the donors have on 4-H programming. I knew that they contributed a lot to the 4-H funding, but I was surprised to learn that almost all of the organization's funding comes from private donors.
